LYRICS

Girls getaway, getaway girls, go, go, go, getaway girls, etc HIT IT!!!

Jump in the truck, hit the road, it’s a girls’ getaway, getaway girls
Kick back, take off a load, girl’s getaway, getaway girls
Getaway girls on a girls weekend
Best of times with the best of friends

Hit the trail, swim in the lake, it’s a girls’ getaway, getaway girls
Through the woods, running naked, girls’ getaway, getaway girls
Getaway girls on a girls weekend
Best of times with the best of friends

Talk, talk, talk the talk, friendly faces
Walk, walk, walk the walk, distant places
Come on girls, it’s time to play, bond together, while we dare
Lots of fun to have today and BOYS CAN’T GO THERE

Easy talk, easy listening, it’s a girls’ getaway, getaway girls
Be ourselves, and be different, it’s a girl’s getaway, getaway girls
Getaway girls on a girls’ weekend
Best of times with the best of friends.

Have a few too many, spill our woes to the ones that know
Girls are always ready to open up, cut loose, let go

Instrumental / it’s a girls’ getaway, getaway girls
I
t’s a girls’ getaway, getaway girls
Getaway girls on a girls weekend
Best of times with the best of friends

Love our boys, we love them true, but girls do what they gotta do
Magazines and fake tattooes and BOYS CAN’T GO THERE!!!!

Girls getaway, getaway girls, go, go, go, getaway girls, YES!!!!

THE STORY

My girlfriends and I get away every few months and escape. We go to all kinds of interesting places, explore, relax, and enjoy each other's company. We've been doing it for fifteen years or so. Girls Weekends are special times -- what better theme for a song! The girls even came into the studio to help us out with the backups. I dedicate this song to Brenda Wolsey, who left Seattle in February to join the Peace Corps in Albania.  You go, girl! We love and miss you!
